Reuben and Cherise 3/18/91
Переглядів 276 тис.13 років тому
This is from an audience recording. There is a soundboard widely available, but I actually prefer this because it better captures the crowd reaction. And I love how that comes in waves as more and more people realize what the song is. I was there and part of that second wave when the lyrics start... 20 years later, that's one of the clear memories of a great night.
Down into Mexico (instrumental)

Noodling and getting started with recording/mixing. A first try at a vocal track did not make the cut!
Happy Birthday Julia

Just a cute little ditty of the kids. Pardon the 'harmony'.
I heard them break this out at Nassau coliseum on that tour. That crowd roar says it all.
I needed this 🙌🏼 !
Love it! It was 3/17/91 at the cap center. Great show!!!
This is epic. Thanks for the share
Time machine take me : And of course back to Winterland.
When they invent the time machine you know where I'll be. keystone berk and dead Rochester '76
This is what we've trained for people.
Chillzzzzzzzz still
Are you sure that's the right date?
I was there! Thanks for this!
Goosebumps when I was at this show and every time I’ve listened to it since!!!!
NIce to hear the crowd break like that. Too bad the band couldn't get it together.
A lot of love in that stadium.
Miss you brother
I r3member this tour when we came out of the show I will never forget the cops were beating a deadhead with bats while he was already having trouble with the trip we all screamed to stop as they continued to swing 5 on one ambulance did come .that Ruben was amazing but that memory of the hate is forever left a smoking crater in my mind
"Cats Under The Stars" is an excellent album, a classic.
Nothing touches the soul like jerr bear
This always makes me happy!!!!!!
Wow I was there still get goosebumps when I hear this wow!!!!! Legendary Cap Center!!!!
Only played live 4 times?!? Crazy. Pure joy thanks. Hug ur loved ones
Well; by the Dead, yes. Jerry Garcia Band played it hundreds of times. One of the best versions is 4/23/93. Type "4/23/93 Rueben and Cherise" into the UA-cam search and it should come up.
17th
such a cool song... they sound pretty good... wierd keys..
3/17
91, IMO, was the last good season for the reason
My cousin Timmy had just handed me a joint as Jerry started singing......I swear, it was some kind of magical moment. Wasn't expecting it. I was literally screaming with joy. The faces around me, will never leave me. Nothing but huge smiles, laughing cheering, screaming, singing. What a moment. Everywhere I looked, there was pure joy. That'll never happen in my lifetime again. Ah....I'm okay with that. I got to see the dead.
That was just a wonderful show all around - the set list, the sound and the crowd outside. Thanks for posting - I know you'll never see this, but man... When they busted out R&C....
Show was 3/17 not 3/18. But yeah, I was there & the crowd reaction was phenomenal.
It was actually 3/17/1991 I believe
The crowd response can restore my Faith in humanity
Was there…fucking Vince :(
Recordings from the tapers section is some of the most emotional and nostalgic tunes I know!
I was there.
I just want Harbor Freight to know, that because of that ad that interupted my bliss I will never ever shop there. 💀⚡️🌹
I saw Jerry play this with JGB back in the 90’s and is still one of my favorite jams.
Total goosebumps.
I have a friend in her early 20s who had never even heard of the grateful dead who i am introducing their music to her. But also trying to convey the concept that it's more than music, a community but more than that even. A force that has changed lives. I think playing this for her will help her understand what this band meant to it's fans and vice versa.
WWJD! What would Jerry do!!!
Thanks for posting. You have the date wrong. This is from the first night 03/17/91. Cheers
Too bad you got the date wrong. It was 3-17.
Dude at a coffee shop I worked at showed me this a few years ago and it’s still a go to for incredible moments in time. Amazing
Not even Dark Star provoked this kid of reaction.
This hits a spot for me. Makes me happy
The date is 3/17/1991 - St. Patrick's Day, not 3/18 I was there. Met my wife at this show.
3.17.91
Guy dancing in the portal near me just lost it when they busted this out. "It doesn't even have to be a Jerry show, it doesn't even have to be a Jerry show ..." He was so happy.
That frantically desperate East coast energy. Such a different vibe from the west coast. Growing up on the East coast i always felt we really needed the dead to counter that shitty East coast vibe
Never gets old.
This is beautiful, thank you!
4:20!
If you like Rock n Roll THE JERRY GARCIA BAND is all you need!
I wish I could find a Charice
